All Black Lives Matter March

I didn't do anything yesterday, or the day before. But today I spent about 5 hours of my time attending the All Black Lives Matter march/demonstration/celebration in Hollywood.
Yesterday the organizers painted the street in front of the Chinese Theatre:

Bonus: I took my youngest daughter. Who is gay. Who had never been to any kind of pride event. She was blown away by all of the massive display of LGBT and BLM pride.

Here she is with her sign and her first ever "actual" rainbow flag that her nice daddy bought her (also notice her SPHS class of 2020 mask!).

I was trying to keep 6 feet apart from everybody, but at the beginning the crowd surged toward us. Ooops! I thought we were standing near the back and would follow everybody as they walked down Highland. Instead they all walked straight at us and Arden and I had to duck into the "open space shelter" of a side street while the thickest part of the crowd went by. I didn't want to be shoulder to shoulder with anybody!

Once it thinned out we joined, and tried our best to find open spaces to walk.

Arden was VERY tired after about 3 hours, so we peeled off and went back to my truck.

Another bonus: This whole march was in our old neighborhood, where Christine and I bought our first house. Here's Sunset and Gardner, the main cross streets by our old house, filled with Pride and BLM marchers:

And our old house. Pained white these days (yuck!). But certainly much nicer and fancier on the inside. We were poor young 20-somethings who could barely afford our very first ghetto house. These days the whole neib has gotten very fancy and affluent (gentrification works its magic. Or maybe it just works it's oppressive colonialism).

But here it is, 1535 N Gardner St.

Total time spent: 5 hours.

We paid for gas and snacks and stuff, but nothing that really pushed the cause forward. So let's call it zero dollars spent.
